What is the job called when you study planets?

I would like to have a job that studies space (mostly planets). What is the job called? And how much do they get payed?

astronomer

the pay is irrelevant. if you're right for the job, you will do it bcuz you are interested.

If you study planets/their moons/our Moon; i.e. their surfaces and the evolution of the body itself, the dynamical nature and physics of the body, then this is called Planetary (and Lunar) Geology. It is like geology of Earth, but applied the objects of our Solar System.

If you the job means you study the stars and galaxies and work out what they are and why they are like that, then you would be an Astrophysicist.

If you just look at objects in the sky, then you would be an Astronomer. But there are virtually no people left in the World who do this, as nobody looks through telescopes anymore, they always use camera's.

Astronomers view the planets, but there are a number of careers involved in planets beyond Earth. Exobiologists deal with possible life on other planets/moons. Exogeologists study geological formations on other worlds. The list just keeps going on. If it might have to do with other planets just slap an exo- in front of it and you have yourself a career.

That would be a planetary scientist, which falls under astronomy, astrophysics, physics, or geology departments. Astrology is bullshit, not science. Astronomers aren't paid very well - 60k - 120k a year, which isn't a lot for someone with a PhD - and you'll need a PhD. We don't do it for the money - we do it because that's what we want to do.

Planetary geologist.

It's hard to get such a job. There are only a few hundred in the whole world, so you'll have to be good. Pays a typical upper-middle-class salary of around $100,000 per year, maybe more, maybe less.

I believe that would fall under the job category of Astrophysicist. How much they get paid depends on what institution they work for and what their research entails.

astrologer-the study of astrology

Astronomer.

they study astronomy. (study space)

Astronomer....because they study astrology.

Astronomer the career is called Astrology that's what its called

and they probably get around 2k a week

astronomers.....they get payed 2k

Astronomers and astrophysicists study space. They are paid very well

I think it's still called astronomer. They make money based on fund raising I believe

Astronomer

Astronomer

Astronomer

Astronomer

Astronomer

astrology

astronomer

astronomy

Astronomer/Astrologist.

And no idea how much they are paid but if you think your going to be one.. be mistaken...

You'll need a few years in university and probably a could of PHD's...

The answer to your question is an astronomer and they get paid 60,000-100,000 a year

A road sweeper.

your all wrong its SUPERMAN

Astronomers, you mean? I'm not sure about pay. Google it?
