How do i politely quit my job at abercrombie?

I want to quit my job at abercrombie after this christmas. I have to visit my country for a month and as a part time employee i don't think we can request days off. I was wondering, should i call in and quit? Or go in person and talk to the managers? Thank you very much for ur input and plz keep negative stuff out. This is my first job and first time to quit a job. I just want to be polite and leave a good impression.

There is a process that every person has to go through many times during their life.

If you want to leave a good impression, you talk to the store manager and tell him/her you have to resign and you're here to give your 2-week notice. (If you want to leave a good impression, you generally give a 2 week notice). You're not obliged to give reasons, but he/she may ask you, and if you're comfortable you can.

You might be able to negotiate something with the manager if you're going to be gone for only a month and are willing to resume the position that you have at your current job.

First of all before you quit, you should explain your situation to your employer, and see if you could take a leave of absence from the job. Do not just assume that they won't keep you hired. Just ask them, and if they say that you're not able to get a month off, then tell them that it was really nice working for you, unfortunately, I need to go home for a month, and I cannot get out of it.

If you want to leave on good terms to create a great work reference and to possibly be eligible for rehire, should you want to work there again, then you MUST give a notice. Most employers prefer at least a 2 weeks notice. You should put it in writing and let them know when your last day of working will be. When you give the note to your boss, also explain in person why you are leaving, etc. Don't just leave it on their desk, etc.

First, see if they will let you take the days off. What are they gonna do, fire you? You're already talking about quitting so you have nothing to lose.

If they say no and you have to quit, here is the proper way to do so:

Write a letter and give it to your supervisor in person. Thank them for the opportunity, but let them know you will not be able to work for the company anymore because you are leaving the country. Give a date for your last day, preferably two weeks in advance That is all that is required by proper business etiquette. This website has a good outline for writing a resignation letter:

Never quit because you arent sure what to do. The best thing is to go in and talk to your manager, if worst comes to worst, they will probably say they can do nothing to help you and then you will have to quit. But they could give you some time off, not sure how much you need. Either way, its best to talk with them.

First, you should ask for the time off. If they say no, then after Christmas explain to the managers (in person) that you need to visit your home country and that if you cannot get the time off, you will need to quit your job. Do not make it a threat, but do make sure you get your point out. Hope this helps!
